Thank You! Medase! Asante Sana!

It was such an honor to spend the afternoon with such a wonderful group of AfriVenturers learning and talking about the stories of black people who have lived, fought, died, loved, struggled, survived and thrived along the banks of the Anacostia River in Washington DC.

Wade In The Water: The Story of Black Lives On The Anacostia was not just a tribute to the black lives on the Anacostia River but also to the earth itself – our home, to the Native Americans who were here before us all and to the River who almost lost her life too.  We remembered it all.

Our lives in DC have grown out of their lives.

Thanks again AfriVenturers and I hope we can do it all again in the near future!
